Zill Workshops

Zills , Sagats or Finger cymbals are one of the greatest tools a dancer can have.They give a dancer freedom to express their dance in a very personal way by creating a rhythm that is uniquely their own especially when dancing to live music or drum.

When you have mastered your Zills they become a part of you - they become your support.

The workshop s are designed for all levels. All levels will be together in the morning. Break for lunch then the more experienced players (or any one willing to give it a go, stay for the afternoon where a drummer will join us.

Beginners
This workshop alone is for those with little or no experience and for those with experience to consolidate there playing in preparation for the afternoon.

What will be covered:
Basic Zill patterns
Playing and identifying the rhythms
Co-ordinating movement and playing.

Experienced
This workshop is for those who have a good relationship with basic zill patterns and can move while playing

What will be covered:
Creating Zill patterns and dance patterns
Creating a percussive sound piece accompanied by a percussionist. Finding your own accompaniment to you personal dance. (This workshop is a must for any one into Tribal Style dance)
