Dancing Isis Dance !

Maria has a versatile and unique style of performing and is skilled in the art of Egyptian Dance which is traditionally known as Raqs Sharqi. 'Raqs Sharqi' means Oriental or Eastern Dance, also modern/classical Egyptian solo dance. The Egyptian peoples' dance of the street, of the home, the cafe, the wedding, the celebration, is 'Baladi' or 'Shaabi'. Baladi means 'of the people.' Shaabi means folk, or popular. The spirit of Sharqi draws its essence from the ancient times of Isis and ancient Egyptian culture.

As a solo dancer she is available for private function weddings, birthdays, public functions, corporate functions, community events, school show and festivals.

Maria brings her own music on CD or tape and can also accompany herself with Zills (finger cymbals), and can dances with a cane, sword, veil or candelabra. She can incorporate teaching as part of the the booking.

Maria also specialises in children's parties. She brings along various props and dress ups for the children. Maria performs for them, dresses them and teaches them some simple moves and gets them to dance with her so they can join in the fun.Maria is a skilled entertainer who can work in any situation.
