Serpentine Ritual Dance – 10 am – 12.30 pm
Deep in our bellies lies the memory of Sacred Serpentine Power. In this dance ritual you will be guided on a journey that embraces the power of the belly & the Serpentine movements of the spine.
You will be invited into a dance that moves through your physical, astral, mental & spiritual realities.
Accessing the full potential of the fluid undulating movements of the spine, the physical powerhouse of Snake Energy.
Move stillness in motion & maintain deep connection to the ground & mother earth.
Find your feet & dance in the new light of you.
Embody Snake Energy. strengthens & supports the deep connections to essences & to the source of all that is.
This workshop is open to both women & men.
It is also great resource for movement & energy for Bellydancers.
Embodied bellydance – 1 – 4 pm
An introduction to Embodied Bellydance
Embodied Bellydance is a unique approach to learning this wonderfully feminine & enchanting dance form. This workshop caters to all who wish to experience this dance, from those with no experience at all, to those who are very experienced & want to deepen their skills as dancers & teachers.
Three hour Embodied Bellydance Format includes an introduction to:
Body Awareness: Know it as a whole, as the instrument that it is.
Breath Awareness: Tune into the total support that you breath has to offer.
Experiential Anatomy: Know the origin of movement, economize your dance
Energy work: Find you multidimensional self through the support of energy centres
Creative Visualization & Somatization: Lean to see & feel your body
NeoTraditional Egyptian Dance: Access one of the main roots of all Bellydance & feel the body knowledge that has to offer
A NOTE for dancers already training or teaching in a Middle Eastern Dance genera. All of the disciplines above will underpin & support your preferred Middle Eastern dance style. whether it be, Cabaret, Classical, Baladi, Traditional, Tribal, or any fusion genre.
A certificate of attendance will be presented to you at the end of the workshop. The certificate will count towards any other training that you undertake in the Embodied Bellydance Format.
